Sree Renga Hospital established the Narbhavi Institute of Paramedical Sciences (NIPS) in 2005 to provide quality paramedical education and enhance healthcare expertise. Affiliated with Tamil Nadu Open University and the Indian Medical Association, NIPS offers one-year vocational diploma courses for entry-level healthcare careers. After completing the course, students receive hands-on clinical training, preparing them for employment in medical colleges and private hospitals, including SRH.

As a 47-bed multispecialty hospital, SRH provides students with extensive clinical exposure to diverse medical cases, including general medicine, surgery, obstetrics & gynecology, orthopedics, and pediatrics.
Students also gain hands-on laboratory experience, utilizing advanced facilities for biochemistry, microbiology, and intrauterine insemination (IUI) procedures.
Our state-of-the-art operation theatres are equipped with:

Students at NIPS actively participate in community health programs organized by SRH and the Diabetic Center in the nearby villages of Chengalpattu. College Hours
Regular classes operate from Monday to Saturday, 8 AM to 5 PM, while clinical posting schedules may vary.
Medium of Instruction
All courses are conducted in English.
Curriculum
The academic year begins on June 1st each year.
Examinations & Assessments
Students must appear for Tamil Nadu Open University (TNOU) examinations annually:
Academic Year Exam: May
Calendar Year Exam: December
The Operation Theatre (OT) Technician Examination, conducted by the Indian Medical Association (IMA), Tamil Nadu, takes place between June and July.
Practical examinations are assessed by external examiners appointed by TNOU.
